The List of Goods and Services, which forms the basis of trademark applications, has been updated and entered into force upon publication in the Official Gazette on 26 February.
The update reflects the Nice 13th edition, and includes additions to certain goods and service descriptions as well as linguistic and scope clarifications. Future trademark filings will be assessed in accordance with the updated classification.
For example, the correction of the term “pektim” to “pektin,” the addition of “clutch linings for machines and motors other than for land vehicles,” the inclusion of “swimming goggles; protective goggles,” and the reclassification of glasses into Class 10 are among the changes introduced.
